Visual hierarchy in design is a set of principles that can be applied to most visual works, and mostly serves as a way to organize visual elements by their importance or to draw attention to them. This can be often seen in web development, with important eye catching information such as headers, titles or buttons having their importance marked by either their size compared to everything else, their colors, how they contrast to other visual elements, and their alignment. It is always important to apply visual hierarchy to web development especially on WordPress, that way a lot of information doesn’t blend together, look too similar, isn’t indistinguishable from one another, and so viewers can have an idea on where they should be redirecting their attention and how they scan the website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I personally always make sure I keep this set of principles in mind, as most of my information on software like WordPress would be difficult to scan along with proper scanning of any provided information. For example, if I don’t properly format content such as applying headers, it would be hard to tell information apart. It’s also important to remember to not overdue visual hierarchy, such as making certain elements way too large to the point where they obscure other elements, or making colors too contrasting or distracting compared to the design of everything else presented.
