WordPress.org (Also known as just WordPress) is free to use and open source, it is also entirely self hosted meaning that you as the user must manage all your own web data within WordPress. Meanwhile in WordPress.com, is partially free to use but also requires payment for additional features. WordPress.com offers a free and paid plan, with the free plan offering some features but also having limitations, whereas the paid plan provides more features such as customization.

It’s very important to know the difference between these two versions of WordPress and not get them confused with each other, no matter how similar they may sound in name.
